1. Am Meshack Barista, A barista by profession and a matatu enthusiastic and Founder & CEO Of Matatu Za Jogoo Road.
2. As a stakeholder In the transport industry, what role do you play?
2. I tend to bring the Transport sector basely the matatu sector by getting to appreciate the diversity, the art and mostly the culture it brings to people as a mode of transport.
3. What challenges do you mainly face in your line of work?
3. Getting to get the right information about the different matatus, the designers behind the artwork.
4. How would you like the government to help you and the industry in general in the work you do?
4. By implementing by laws that favor the taking of loans and reducing interest on the loans given to the investors of matatus in enabling a sufficient environment for growth of the matatu industry.
- Reduction of the insurance policies charges being given to the matatu industry
- Reduction of the log prices, this is a big issue when it comes to transportation in Kenya, high petroleum prices leads to high charges in transport .
5. When did you know about the Heels and Wheels Africa (Matatu is bae) Initiative?
5. Back in 2018,when kayole's "SOUL" was voted Nairobi's best matatu.
6. Do you think this initiative has positive impact on the industry?
6. Yes, the initiative has a positive impact on the industry.
7. What can be done to appreciate different stakeholders such as drivers and touts this year?
7. Maybe through awards and probably simply appreciating them everyday because they play a big role in the industry.
8. What is your hope and objective you wish to achieve in this year 2022?
8. Making Matatu Za Jogoo Road known to many and start giving back to the society through charities with other charitable organizations like soul family and Oswald Charity.
9. What is your message to Kenyan youth this election year.?
9. That your vote really does matter. This election vote wisely, let's choose leaders who will guide our present and our future.
