UGANDAN COMMERCIAL & RUNWAY MODEL, JOAN KETSEY IS SHOOTING FOR THE STARS & HER PATH TO SUCCESS IS BRIGHT

Joan Ketsey, a Ugandan model based in Kampala is not just wishing on a star, she is actually determinedly working towards her goal of being one of the most renown and successful model in East Africa. We had the opportunity to interview the rising star. 

1. Hey Ms Joan, how would you like to introduce yourself?

1.I am Joan ketsey N ,I do glamour , commercial ,runway ,and beauty pageant modelling.

2. How how have you been modeling professionally?

2.I have walked several shows like my dream fashion runway ,i have also been taking different shots for some companies

3. What inspired you to get into the modeling career?

3. Basically I used to love modelling since I was young and I used to see different models on TV and when I got an opportunity I joined amavis modelling agency that gave me a platform to where I AM but I was inspired by Aduta akech

4. How has your experience been so far in the industry?

4.My experience so far has been good.

 

5. Who are some of the people you look up to for inspiration?

5. Aduta akech ,noami Campbell, amanyire Davis aka amavis

6. Who are some of the creatives, photographers and designers you have worked with so far?

6.Supreme media photography ,dw photography and for the designers amavis fashion ,ibra gowns ,Emmy fashions and others.

7. What are some of the opportunities and challenges you have encountered in modeling so far?

7.I have been able to walk different shows and  I was choose as the 1st runners up miss amavis and I have got some companies book me to take photoshoots and as for challenges I think I have one and it's my dad doesn't really approve me being in the industry of fashion and modelling.

8. What do you reckon can be done to improve the modeling and fashion industry in Uganda?

8.What I can say is may be my country should also emphasis on fashion and modelling because it's not recognized as a career this side.

9. What are your aspirations for this year in your modeling career?

9 . Involvement in Walking asfas ,go to at least one other country and represent Uganda and perhaps  feature on the billboards.

 

10. Which brands would you love to work with in Uganda or internationally?

10. Abrayans and many more renown brands.

11. What's your advice to you girls aspiring to become commercial and runway models one day?

11.Let them be determined ,be goal shouters ,have mentors and focus.
