Kenyan fashion designer & commercial Model Leah Wanjiru a.k.a Shee honey is confident of success and shares her aspirations

Fashion design is a dynamic field that requires consistent creativity and hard work. Kenyan fashion designer, Leah Wanjiru has braced herself for the field and is confident about success in fashion design and commercial modeling. We had the opportunity for a brief interview .

1. Hey how would you like to introduce or rather describe yourself?

1.My name is Leah Wanjiru Maina.a.k.a Sheehoney_the_model. I'm 22years old,currently based in Nyeri. A fashion and apparel designer, I simply love art  in general, am also a fashion/commercial model,dancer,actor and upcoming  vixen. Currently with Amolamoda Agency.

2. When did you discover your passion for modeling and design?

2.From when I was a little girl of about 10 years i was pretty choosy on what mama chose for me to put on,and would cry until I  put on  dress of my choice,I would then get carried away  by young star programs  on tv....it later became a passion and I put more effort on it.

4.Joy Kendi,Anita Nderu,Taylor Swift, Rihanna

5. Which brands do you aspire to work with in future?

5. Dghonie hair arts,Samantha bridal,Suave Kenya.

6. How has your journey as a model and designer been so far?

6.It has been amazing but everything got its challenges...like when it comes to the capital incurred.

7. What challenges and opportunities have you encountered so far?

7.Lack of business acumen,unable to choose the target customer. Opportunities: Having attended various fashion events  I got enough experience on how to start run my own fashion business.

8. What are some of the biggest highlights in your designing career so far?

8. The opportunity to create traditional forms of Kenyan clothing and develop a uniquely Kenyan designs. From the materials to the designs making quality fashion.

9. What changes or improvements would you love to see in the Kenyan fashion & design Industry?

 9. I believe more investment being made into the sector by various stake holders can make a great improvement.

10. What are your other interests apart from fashion & design ?

10. I love listening to good music,travelling & networking with new people with interesting ideas.
