DIDA SANTANA; Out to decipher the www digital era of love, money & the grind on his forthcoming mixtape

Rap and soul music has never sounded better. These are they key elements of Dida Santana’s art. Born and raised in the capital, Nairobi. He’s a music and fashion entrepreneur, combing his sartorial style and trap soul element of his music which is a combination of hip hop/rap, Rnb and soul music bringing a fresh aura into the music scene. In his music he’s seen displaying his rapping skills and his melodies trading them from time to time on different songs. With his campaign for his latest release and debut mixtape “#WwwTheMixtape” he released his promotional single Two in one which is also one of the records off the mixtape.

His music which combines street vibes and corporate class,more of a story of a young youth in the urban world with it transcending social classes as he speaks openly without fear of the day to day happenings of the youth in the urban areas and the challenges and beauty of growing up in this era. In his own words “what most are not willing to be heard saying in their music to protect their image or brands but the young mind needs to know about. If the truth is told the youth will grow.” Having grown up in the projects in a family of 3 being the first born to growing from a hustler family to a more affluent family it has enabled him see both sides of the divide and developed his hustler spirit which can be reflected in his music. His inspiration comes from everyday life being a free spirit and being out in the wild streets of Nairobi. He’s been able to accumulate content for his music from his experiences and of those around him.

His creative process is way unpredictable as he sometimes comes up with melodies off the top and later lyrics to the records, on other occasions he comes up with lyrics an influence he attributes to him having a history of being a writer and poet in his later days as an artist and also writing stories as soon as he goes through an experience and later recording it as a song. He’s not only a recording artist but also a performer though green in this field of his art with his first shows coming in the beginning of this year but as far as recording is concerned he’s been on it since 2012 when he started out recording cyphers with his friends to later dedicating his time to build his sound and seeing his growth is so fulfilling. He started his own record label recently which he is also signed under Ditana Entertainment through which he puts out music.

He’s been releasing singles over the years both collaborative and solo projects and is finally looking to release his debut mixtape.
