Hiphop and Afro-urban pop artist, Frank Sukre talks Love in the Nairobian time & shares his musical journey.

1. Hey Frank, how would you like to introduce yourself?

1. My name is frank spelt with an f..and I like to write songs.

2. How long have you been doing music?

2. I’ve been a studio engineer for about 3 years now, but actual singing and performing about an year ago.

3. What inspired your interest in music?      

3. As long as I can remember music has always been something I was drawn to…my mom says I used to cry with melody ….haha 

4. You part of a group, the hommies band tell us more about it?

4. The hommies band is a group constituted by Arap moi the producer, Emmz a rapper …and myself of course. Everybody does everything from singing to producing, we’re still working on the dancing and choreography  though  haha…and by  August we shall be doing westlife hand gestures.

We’re coming out with a project next month it’s in the mastering stages.

5. How has the creative experience been working on your most recent project?

5.It’s titled Love in the time of Nairobi….it’s mostly about the effect Nairobi has on love the good and the bad…I don’t want to say too much…but it’s going to be unlike anything you’ve heard before..msupawoman is the first single dropped recently

6. Do you reckon social media is a critical tool for a budding artist to gain sufficient exposure?

6. Hell yeah……more people spend more time on social media more than on tv or radio…

You do well on these platforms, tv and radio will actually look for you, that’s actually what’s already going on.

7. What challenges have you faced so far along the way?

7. Well making music is actually easy , it’s always been easy and fun .everything else the marketing the branding that’s where the work is and most of the time its actually the most important.

8. What your view on the current state of the music and entertainment industry in Kenya and Africa at large?

8. I think the entertainment industry is going to be big I feel a change coming.

9. How can one access your music online and other platforms?

9. YouTube ,mdundo and boom play .

10. What can the fans expect from you before the close of the year

 10. Uhhm, another video possibly two, My ep love in the time of Nairobi in a few weeks

After that the hommies band project and that’s just the half ….It’s definitely a busy year.
