Kenyan Video director, Adams Eston & his mission in 2018!

1. Sir Adams is growing to a household name, how can you introduce yourself?

1.Dir. Adams Eston is a Kenyan  Music video director also a director
of photography, script writer,Editor and colourist.Am aged 26yrs.

2. How long have you been in production?
2.I have been in the film industry for now 5yrs,having worked on
different occupations in the industry I.e as a guffer, cameraman editor
before I could officially become a director
3. What inspired your passion to join production and the industry?
My inspiration to join film industry came from the fact that back in
secondary I loved literature so much and was so good in it too so I
loved telling stories having mixed this with my love for music and art
itself I fell in love with the industry the only place I could freely
express my self artistically

4. What does your work entail?
4.Simply my work entails coming up with an idea of a song after
listening it,put it down in a way that I can express the idea in
visual manner(story boarding) then the next step is actually going in
the field direct the artiste and the shots to be taken then come and
edit the clips, colour it and come up with an entertaining one complete
visual to represent the song
5.How has your journey been  in the entertainment industry and video production?
5.I would lie that its been easy BT rather a journey full of up and
downs a lot of discouragement but either way I thank God have been
able to stand strong pushing harder everyday and I can now see the
hardworking starting to bear fruit.

6.What are some of the challenges you have encountered?
6.I have experience a lot of challenges in these in industry just to
name a few, one is the daily change of technology that affects
equipments lk camera everyday a new camera is out and the artistes
also goes withe change hence it becomes difficult and expensive to
keep up with technology, another challenge is ofcos lack of trust from
artistes who most the times believe in the big household names to be
the best hence convincing them to work with you becomes a challenging
fact too, another challenge is location for this shoots is becoming a
problem coz of the prices they charge it becomes so expensive to hire
a location nowadays in Kenya and that affects the production of a
visual on a bigger margin and also another challenge is ofcos artistes
having good music but not enough fund to support the visual production
of the songs this affects the quality of the visual

7. What are the highlights of tour career so far?
7.Among my highlights so far is having worked for the Nairobi county
government in the Nairobi live love festivals 2015 project, having
worked with Sarabi  a band that I just used to saw on TV and wished I
could meet them and ofcos having worked with other talented artistes
from different background and levels ofcos all the artistes have
worked with are my generally my highlights, its been an amazing half a
decade in this industry.
Also on the positive side have been able to meet awesome artistes and
entertainers from different places,bn able to attend great events
shared sets with some of kenya's most talented acts so it has been a
whole round thing, challenges yes but also full of glamour and
wonderful experiences

8.What do you aspire for in the next two years career wise?

8.I would say in the next 2yrs I aspire to be one of the best music
video director in Africa and ofcos be an inspirational figure to other
young and upcoming film makers and anybody in the film and
entertainment industry as a whole not forget to mention that I also
inspire to have my company Royal State Pictures grown in to a big
production in this continent and beyond

9.Do you believe the video production industry and space in Kenya has
grown in comparison to other African countries?
9. Ofcourse, our video industry has  grown as compared to other many
countries in Africa and I believe within 3 yrs at least a half of the
best video directors in Africa will be sourced from Kenya

10. What do you reckon should be done to encourage better production in Kenya?
10.To better our video and film production in Kenya first the
concerned bodies should completely cheap in and ensure low tax is
charged on our film equipments even if possible no tax should be
charged,..this will encourage availability of better equipments, world
class to be specific,.also the we need to have many film forums from
our government and involved bodies to teach our growing number of film
makers on better ways of doing it otherwise the industry will be
filled with many video directors and film makers who doesn't do it the
right way hence many low standard production which in turn affects our
industry
11. How can clients and fans of your work reach you on social media?
11.I can be reached on my face book acct as Adams eston,I.g. @

12. What's your parting shot..
12.Am a believer and so just like other believers I will say believe
