THE STAGE IS SET FOR WOMEN LEADERSHIP WITH KENYA'S FIRST WOMAN RUNNING MATE MARTHA KARUA

This year's election in Kenya presents a great opportunity to put to test women leadership by affording support to women vying for different leadership position in the forth coming elections set for August 9th.
The push for women empowerment and equality and leadership has gotten a major boost on this year's politics and leadership quest by the appointment of Martha Karua as the presidential running mate for ODM leader, Raila Odinga.
Other women that have also been in active politics including Millicent Omanga, Esther Pasaris, Ann Waiguru among others are also being joined by first time women campaigners also vying for different leadership positions including the Women representatives, Members of Parliament, Senators and governors.
This bold move and departure from the culture of stereotypes against women in leadership is much welcome in Kenya as it has proven to be very critical to involve women at all levels of leadership as women's capability in leadership has been proven by women heads of states such as Samia Suluhu of Tanzania and Sirleaf Ellen Johnson of Liberia among others.
