MWAI KIBAKI'S LEGACY - HIGHLIGHTING THE VALUED CONTRIBUTION OF GREAT AFRICAN LEADERSHIP

The world and more so Africa woke to the devastating news of the demise of Mwaki Kibaki, Kenya's first opposition president who made an invaluable contribution to the development of the great East African nation of Kenya.
The leader who studied both in Uganda and the U.K in the 50's and 60's believed in a political and economic ideology that saw Kenya enjoy a 10% growth In the economy during MWAI KIBAKI'S regime.
Compared to his predecessor Arap Moi, Kibaki worked tirelessly to liberalise the economy and shifted focus from reliance on the West to working with the East, seeing the realization of rapid transformation and expansion of infrastructure projects in the country.
From a leadership view point, his style of leadership was a departure from the dictatorial style of Arap Moi, to Kibaki's democratic style that gave space and tolerance to contrary opinion by others in government and also clearly demonstrating non-self centered leadership that was about service delivery to the Kenyan people.
