The 9 year old talented singer BMK Makena has been nominated for the African Children of the year Awards.

BMK Makena, the humble and talented 9 year old Kenyan singer has been nominated for the South Africa based Africa Children of the Year Awards under the Arts and Culture category. The awards organized by the Stacey Fru Foundation https://staceyfrufoundation.org.za/children-awards/   recognizes talent among children and the positive impact that children create through their gifts in various communities across Africa. The young voice of BMK Makena has been a gift shared to all her audiences, and her song, Kana Ni Kega, a vernacular song from Tharaka Community in Kenya meaning, “child is good or rather a child is a gift” embraces child care and good upbringing of children  in terms of morals for prosperity of future generations and exemplifies African art and culture and appreciation for the African child.

The young talent in grade 4 at Kings school Nairobi, is destined for greatness and has received great support for her music from her friends, family, fellow choir singers at Gregory Choir in St Mary Umoja Parish and audiences with her music on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqGvgX8CHzibVvjKNat9USA  being well received across Africa. However, because of the COVID global pandemic the Award ceremonies is to be held virtually on Saturday 7th November, as BMK Makena and other nominated children shine on the Stacy Fru foundation, Africa Children of the year, awards platform.
