Kenyan model JEAN MERCY shares about conquering self doubt to having a great 2018 in modeling.

1. Hi mercy, how would u like to introduce yourself?   

1.My name is Mercy Kichwen,20 year old model and student at the
University of Nairobi Kenya, also working part time in the sales and marketing
business.
    

2. When did you discover your passion for fashion & modeling?

2.I must say the modeling spirit has been in me from my childhood. I grew
up struggling with self-esteem problem almost leading to depression and eating disorder, I would receive lots of mockeries concerning my skinny body and being tall amongst my peers seemed to be an abnormality, being quite shy and an introvert.

But then I would follow up with every Miss World pageantry episode ,the models graced the
runway with great confidence and the zeal in them was just admirable, hence I decided to take control of my life, block all the negativity from my environment and pursue what my heart ached
for modeling is my passion and career.I hope to continue touching many souls and inspire them to pursue their passions moreover, love themselves more the way they are             

3. How has your experience in modeling been so far?

3.My experience in modeling has been great, experienced both bad and good days yet learnt
more and made quality friends.

 4. Do you consider yourself more of a runway model or
commercial or freelance?   

4. I consider myself more of a commercial and freelance model. I later came to realize that I wasn't that tall after all through the numerous runway auditions I auditioned my height was below the high fashion standard.                     

5. What has been your biggest highlight so far ?

5.My biggest highlight was getting nominated in the House of Legacy
awards, a yearly awards recognizing upcoming models and other
professionals in the industry

6. What challenges have you come across?

6. I would say scam modeling agencies and financial problems have been the
challenges have encountered so far.

 7. Are u signed to any modeling agency?

7. At the moment am not signed to any modelling agency.

 8. Which brands do you aspire to work with in
future?     

 8. I would love to work with Luxuria Lifestyle Africa,Kenya Airways,Voque
models just to mention a few .

9. Who or what has been your greatest inspiration or influence so far?

9. My greatest inspiration has been the young people who have put their
passions into action and working towards improving themselves and are
unstoppable in their pursuit. Whether well established or still
developing those guys trigger me to work more and above all the Lord
for the far He has brought me.

10. Where do you see yourself career wise in the next 2years in the industry.   

 10. I would love to be a successful business lady and well established
model in the next 2 years .
                       

11. What are your other interests and hobbies.   

11. I do sketch and a bit of knitting and jewelery when am free.I love to
socialise and make new friends.
