:1.Hello! How would you like to introduce yourself?
I am Elssie ,a former student of cooperative University and a model
too from Nairobi,Karen area .
2.When did you get into commercial modeling?
I started modelling while in High School where i used to do just
modelling in general but afterwards in the year 2014 ,after high
school got serious about it and specialized on doing specific types
ie.Runway,commercial,
3.What inspired your passion for modeling?
Basically my dream was always to be a model since i was a kid as i
watched girls on the runways ,i always wished to be one ,but with the
motivation from my mentors ,family and friends i really thought myself
being one successful model ,a gave a try in high school and everyone
was impressed ,that really pushed me forward to keep doing it despite
one or two challenges.
4.What has been the highlight of your career so far this year?
Earlier participated in Mr and Miss Avantis ,a club event ,..
Charity events cooperation ,
Helping kisumu models on basics of modelling ,
Encouraging models beginners about modelling .
5. What are your other interests and hobbies?
I love swimming ,just water games,traveling to new places ,i love
nature walks,reading novels ,photo addict😁,and too i love watching
especially inspirational channels .
6. What's the starter pack of an aspiring commercial model in Africa?
First ,attitude ,one to be a model ,he or she should have a good
attitude towards modelling industry ,without attitude ,giving up at
one point is so easy,thus that first attitude matters a lot .
Secondly ,passion ,for a model to be successful he or she should be
passionate towards it ,you do it like a professional even if you a
beginner ,do it like the likes of #Model Ajuma ,embrace it ,passion
builds ones confidence and success ,because once one loves doing it
,he or she will always be bold ,boldness is just one of the many
important traits a model should embrace..
7.Do you think the kenyan modeling and entertainment industry has
grown significantly?
Sure,the kenyan modelling industry has really grown ,atleast in all
counties we hear about models ,from kids,adults to plus size
models.Theres really a rapid growth and too a stiff competition in the
industry Which is a challenge on one side and a good show on the other
side .
8. What is the greatest challenge you have encountered so far in the industry?
Stiff competition,currently there are a lot of models all over the
nation ,which gives as a challenge ,such that in auditions and
competitions you must be so different from the rest to succeed .

10. What's your advice to young aspiring models?
The industry currently is so flooded thus on trying it they should
first build that attitude ,be passionate about it and focus ,atleast
be different from other models ,furthermore they should be ready for
challenges which are numerous and only a focused model will take
positively and go for what he or she needs,otherwise modelling is a
good career to try on as long as one is focused and passionate about
it .
11. What's your parting shot..
Modelling is a good thing to try out ,just three aspects ,focus ,passion and a positive
attitude ,then success is there for us .
