MEDIOCRITY IS THE ENEMY OF GROWTH AND PROGRESS
If the existence of every single being was to be put under scrutiny, the examination of how well we perform our duties will tell a lot about the level of success we achieve in life both in the short term and the long term.
In the basic sense, the effort and energy expended on the same task by two different individuals varies based perhaps on the resources in our disposition or the attitude towards the task and the ultimate perceived benefit or value derived from the undertaking.
If life was a task, as it indeed is for some, the energy and focus we assert in reaching our goals will render us excellent or MEDIOCRE in all sense of evaluation.
The mediocre mind is satisfied and settled with asserting only the bare minimum effort in their approach to life. The mediocre mind knows nothing of the EXTRA MILE. If two glasses of water daily is what it takes to be well hydrated through the day, then why bother taking an extra glass eve on a hot day? The mediocre mind might ask. Why is it necessary to study ahead or work overtime while the progress seems to be just fine or good thus far?
Mediocrity is a disease somewhat hard to get to the bottom of, but it will make you sink. One will fold their hands and sit back and reel in the comfort zone in the mediocre state of comfort and utter contentment in the basic wanting not to lose this comfort or step out into the unknown where growth ultimately exists.
The mediocre staff makes a mediocre firm just as the mediocre mind makes a mediocre life. The mediocre loves mediocre company rest anyone pushes them out of comfort nor spook them off the mediocre pendulum there only the bare minimum is expected.
A determined non mediocre mind calls out mediocrity at first sight. To arise and step out of the comfort zone is the sure cure to this sickness called mediocrity. Mediocre loves familiar ground but those that step out beyond the known into the uncertain will leap the benefits of it. Nothing in their life will be basic or about the bare minimum. They loathe mediocrity at any juncture in their lives only courting sacrifice and determination and are always after the reward in the extra mile and the overtime!
